Nowadays, employees consider more than just their salary when it comes to job search. They also value the additional benefits and compensations provided by the company. These benefits can be non-monetary and play a significant role in motivating employees and ensuring their satisfaction during their employment. Even some companies that are hiring plan competitive value-added benefits when it comes to recruitment and staffing in Qatar.

According to the Qatar Labor Law (QLL) under company sponsorship, employees are entitled to various benefits during their contract period. Let’s look at some of these benefits:

Annual Leave:

Employees are granted a minimum of three weeks (21 calendar days) of annual leave during the first five years of service. This entitlement increases to four weeks (28 calendar days) after completing five years of service. The leave period includes weekends and public holidays.

Public Holidays:

Employees are entitled to multiple paid public holidays throughout the year. These include National Day, Eid holidays, and other significant occasions.

Sick Leave:

With a valid medical certificate, employees are eligible for up to two weeks of sick leave with full pay, based on their basic wage. If the illness extends beyond this duration, the employer may choose to continue paying the employee at a reduced rate or terminate their employment.

Maternity Leave:

Female employees are eligible for 50 calendar days of maternity leave with full pay. Those with at least one year of service may extend their leave for an additional unpaid period of up to 90 days.

End of Service Gratuity:

Upon termination, employees receive a lump sum payment based on length of their service and basic wage. The gratuity amount is calculated as 21 days of basic wage per year for the first five years and 30 days per year thereafter.

Air Tickets:

As per the company policy, employees are eligible for one-way or two-way air tickets upon completing one or two years of service, respectively.

Accommodation:

Employees may receive an accommodation allowance or be provided with company accommodation as per the Qatar Labor Law and the company’s policy.

Transportation:

Employees may receive a transportation allowance or be provided with transportation by the company, in accordance with the Qatar Labor Law and the company’s policy.

These employee benefits not only provide financial support but also contribute to the overall well-being and job satisfaction of employees during their tenure with the company.
