From initiating the transfer request to obtaining approval, we’ll provide you with the information you need to navigate through this transition seamlessly.

An individual resident or company can submit an online request through the MoL’s (Ministry of Labor) electronic notification system and obtain approval for the transfer of sponsorship.

1. Application Form

  • Copy of the ‘Change Employer’ form: This form can be printed from the Ministry of Interior (MoI) website. Download the form here.

Provide worker’s information:

  • Fill out the required information as requested, such as the worker’s name, nationality, QID number, occupation, duration of work with the current employer, etc.

Provide employer information:

  • If the employer is an individual, provide their QID number and signature.
  • If the employer is a company, provide the company name, computer card number, and the QID number of the authorized signatory/sponsor of the company. The authorized signatory/sponsor’s signature and seal may also be required.
  •

2. Access the MoL’s electronic notification system:

  • Visit the MoL’s website below to access the online request system.
  • Login using the QID number and Metrash registered mobile number of the worker.
  • An OTP (One-Time Password) will be sent to the registered mobile number.
  • Enter the OTP to proceed.

3. Obtain the necessary documents:

  • Once logged in, you will be redirected to a page, fill in the worker’s details, current employer’s details, and request details.

  •  Upload the necessary documents as specified by the system. This may include the ‘Change Employer’ form and any additional required documents.
  • Other documents such as a copy of the employment contract, an employee’s passport copy, Qatar ID (QID) copy, and any other relevant documents may be required. It’s advisable to check with the MoL or MoI for the specific document requirements.

4. Submit the request:

  • Review all the entered information and uploaded documents to ensure accuracy.
  • Submit the request through the electronic notification system.
  • The request will be processed by the MoL, and if approved, you will receive confirmation of the sponsorship transfer.

5. The workers or employers can track the status of the application using the link.

Enter the worker’s QID No and the Application number starting with EC-000000-000000, fill in the captcha as shown in the image and click submit to view the status of the transfer.

If the request is approved, the sponsorship transfer process will begin. The MoL will update the worker’s sponsorship details in their system, indicating the change of employer.

6. Notification to the current employer:

The MoL will notify the worker’s current employer about the approved sponsorship transfer. This is to inform them of the impending change and allow them to process the necessary procedures on their end. The worker and the new employer will receive a message on their registered mobile number once the transfer is approved.

7. Issuance of the new employment contract:

Once the sponsorship transfer is approved, the worker and the new employer will need to sign a new employment contract reflecting the change of employer. This contract will include all the relevant terms and conditions of employment. Once the contract upload has been digitally attested, the new employer can request a new QID print.
